Glide Invest FAQ: What are the limits on UPI transactions?

What are the limits on UPI transactions?

UPI transaction limit is Rs 1 lakh per transaction, as set by NPCI, the RBI regulated entity that built UPI. In addition to this, transaction limits can be categorised as follows:
  1. Transaction amount limits (i.e the maximum amount of money that can be transferred via UPI)
    1. Daily limit
    2. Weekly limit
    3. Monthly limit
  2. Frequency limits (i.e number of UPI transactions a person can do in a day)
Both nationalized and private banks have set their own limits, so these limits can vary from bank to bank.

For example, as of 2020 June, the limits set by India's largest public sector bank, State Bank of India (SBI), were as follows:
  1. Per transaction limit is Rs 100,000 (as determined by NPCI)
  2. Daily limit is Rs 100,000
  3. There is no limit for per week or per month value of UPI transfer.
